Digging from the Archives

As we all know, 2020 has been a very difficult year, which has had a massive impact on all our lives. A lot of things we do for a living or for fun have just had to stop.

So, I thought instead of not posting any portraits, I’d dig around the archives to keep this blog alive and show some of what I’ve done in the past, even if I still can’t do it now.

Over the years I’ve shot a few Sports portraits some of which were Boxer related. In fact my last post was indeed boxing related. As coincidence would have it, my last shoot I did in 2020 was Boxing related.

I got quite creative with this shoot and really enjoyed editing these.

Of course, I couldn’t resist a black and white version too.

As well as the boxing, she also did Kick Boxing, which was a little different from what Id shot previously

She wanted to try and portray the mental side of the sport too, which I thought was a brilliant idea and added an extra dimension to the photos.

We firstly went with the jubilation of achieving your goal…

…followed by the depression of maybe not achieving what you wanted or indeed losing in your event.

I loved how these came out and thought the results really showed the anguish of loss or exhaustion of the effort.

I would love to try and do more shoots like this again in the future.
